RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research focuses on risk, resilience and decision-making in complex systems. I am particularly interested in how consequences propagate through interconnected infrastructure, social and economic systems, and how these relationships change what we understand to be at risk.

My research interests include:

  • risk analysis and decision-making under uncertainty
  • complex, systemic and cascading risk
  • infrastructure interdependencies and resilience
  • climate risk and adaptation
  • geospatial and network modelling
  • social and economic consequences of hazards
  • adaptation pathways and intervention analysis
  • translating risk research into decision-support methods and tools

I welcome enquiries from prospective research students interested in these areas, particularly work that combines methodological development with consequential real-world problems.
