A major focus of my work is ensuring that advances in risk research improve real decisions. I work with government, infrastructure providers, industry and communities to develop and apply methods for understanding risk, planning for climate change, and strengthening resilience. This research has contributed to climate adaptation and natural-hazard planning in Aotearoa New Zealand and to the development of Resilience Explorer®, which translates research in risk and complex systems into practical decision support.
